There is a small improvement in the course of the pandemic in Greece as the recently updated official COVID-MAP shows. Updated on February 15, 2022, the Covid-Map shows that while the overwhelming majority of the mainland and the big islands remain in “deep red”, the highest pandemic level, while some regions shows also improvement.

The map is updated on a weekly basis by the team of epidemiologists of the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Health in collaboration with EODY and the Ministry of Civil Protection, taking into account the following epidemiological indicators:

• 14-day number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants
• Control positivity index
• Weekly percentage change of cases
• Number of active cases
• Age distribution of cases
• Weekly number of new hospitalizations per 100,000 inhabitants
• Weekly number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants
• Vaccination coverage rate
• Active case reproduction rate (Rt)
• Health system occupancy
• Contact tracking analysis
• Mutation analysis

Greece has lifted more restrictions in entertainment and sports on February 20, and many people flocked to bars on Saturday night to resume a bit of the normalcy they have lost since last autumn.
