The Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry tabled an amendment at the Palriament that bans both people and vehicles from entering forest ecosystems, parks and NATURA areas on days when the risk of wild fire is high.
According to the amendment, the decision to ban even transit passage, staying and general traffic circulation in these areas will be issued by the regional governor of each area.
No measure in the country is penalty-free and each violation will be punished with a fine of 300 euros, the amendment stipulates.
The amendment is scheduled to be voted later on Tuesday.
