A German national was arrested on the island of Kos in the early morning hours of Friday. Against the 30-year-old man there was an international arrest warrant for participating in a far-right extremist organization.
German police officers had traveled to Greece to arrest him and th eoperation was carried out jointly with Greek officers..
The specific person is said to be a member of a far-right extremist organization in Germany, while he is also accused of drug and arms trafficking and money laundering, media reported.
The cooperation between the two countries started when the information arrived that the specific person has been temporarily residing in a hotel on the island of Kos.
According to Greek media information, an operation was carried out at the same time in a suburb of Berlin and authorities arrested several people. Four of the arrestees are reportedly said to be members of the same organization.
The 30-year-old man resisted his arrest on Kos and he is also charged for this offense.
Greek and German authorities judicial authorities are to decide on the man’s extradition.
