Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday 100,421 confirmed coronavirus cases in the week of August 1-7, 2022 (ISO 31/2022). In the same period of time 314 [345] Covid-patients have died, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said in its weekly report.
The number of intubated Covid-patients stands at 120.
Coverage of simple Covid-beds is at 55.59% and of Covid-ICU beds at 57.65%
All confirmed infections since the pandemic began are 4,577,675 of them 51.8% are women.
Weekly bulletin in brief:
- 103,421 cases (daily average: 14,722; weekly change -19%; reinfections at 21%.
- 345 deaths (49.2per day)
- 120 intubated
- 2343 hospital admissions (daily average 334)
- Significant decrease in PCR -10.4% and -9.15% in RAPID tests.
- Self-tests are not reported to EODY
Tests: 728,373 PCR/RAPID test with positivity rate at 13,79%.

345 deaths from Covid-19 registered in the August 1-7 week, a ratio of 34 deaths per 1 mln people (weekly change: -18%), bringing the total of pandemic victims since the pandemic began to 31,772. Of the deceased, 95.9% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
Also this week there is an EODY discrepancy between the number of deaths and the total deaths (last week: 31,377), hinting that the number of deaths were 345 and not 314.
A total of 120 Covid-patients were on ventilators in hospitals in August 7. Their median age is 70 years , 60.8% are men and 92.0% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
2,343 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospitals during the same week, while 2,195 were discharged at the same time.
The average age of infected is 38, while the average age of the deceased is 80.
