Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday, August 23, a total of 55,769 confirmed coronavirus cases in the week of August 15-21, 2022 (ISO 33/2022). In the same period 258 [307] Covid-patients have died, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said in its weekly report.
The number of intubated Covid-patients stands at 132.
All confirmed infections since the pandemic began are 4,712,025; of them 51.9% are women.
Weekly bulletin in brief:

258 deaths from Covid-19 registered in the August 15-21 week, a ratio of 25 deaths per 1 mln people (weekly change: -27%), bringing the total of pandemic victims since the pandemic began to 32,335. Of the deceased, 95.5% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
* We still can’t have a clue on the real number of deaths, but based on EODY total number of victims in the 32. week and the 33. one there must have been 307. In the 32. week they announced also 258 deathsbut on the 33. week “weekly change -11%” – Go figure!
A total of 132 Covid-patients were on ventilators in hospitals on August 23. Their median age is 70 years , 65.2% are men and 95.5% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
1,527 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospitals during the same week (weekly change -22%), while 1,474 were discharged at the same time.
The average age of infected is 38, while the average age of the deceased is 80.

The number of inflections has generally decreased except in Mt Athos, Arta, Grevena, Ikaria, Kythnos, Limnos, Naxos, Trikala and Fokida where they had a small increase..
