Massive “revenge porn” scandal in Patras discovered

A massive ‘revenge porn” scandal with over 1,000 pictures and videos of reportedly 141 victims, residents of Patras, has been discovered. Two men have been identified as organizers of the illegal material that is shared via an application for mobile phones. No arrest has been made so far.

Men can easily have the particular file with the 141 women in “folders” on their mobile phone, as long as they know someone who already has it in possession.

Two men, residents of Athens, have been identified by the Police as being responsible for the mass “revenge porn”, which was revealed after complaints from women who saw their private moments published on the Internet.

The case has been revealed by local media pelop.gr, that reported about the existence of a list which includes a total of 141 files, and each one concerns a young woman from Patras, in northern Peloponnese.

Inside the folder, one can see videos and photos of the girl in personal moments, either alone or with a partner.

What is more outrageous in the illegal filed material is that each folder has also the girl’s name and the area of her residency.

All the files have not been uploaded with the consent of the victims. Some of them discovered the shameful defamation through people in the small communities who saw the files.

One victim told media that one man who had seen her pictures turned to her employer complaining that she was working there.

The files have not been uploaded on the internet but they are shared from mobile to mobile phone via an application.

According to media information, hundreds of people have the “list of shame” on their mobile phone.

So far, only one victim has filed a lawsuit.

One young woman whose partner had shared on internet their private moments told media that when she discovered what was going on she fell in deep depression. It was only because of the help and support of her mother that she managed to recover and avoid the worst.
