Greece abolishes the mandatory use of masks against Covid-19 by personnel in hospitals and health structures. There are exceptions, though, for personnel dealing with high risk groups of patients.
The Health Ministry decision published on the official gazette on Monday, July 23, 2023.
A new lifting of measures against the coronavirus was decided by the competent committee, and protective masks are now abolished for Health workers as well.
Who will continue to wear them compulsorily?
The mandatory use of a protective mask in hospitals is abolished and so is the mandatory Covid Rapid test by workers who were not vaccinated or not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The mandatory use of a protective mask is provided only for health personnel who come into contact with high-risk patients such as oncology patients, immunosuppressed patients, transplant patients and patients in Intensive Care Units, as well as with patients belonging to high-risk groups.
The mandatory rapid test still applies to employees in closed public and private social care structures.
Regarding visitors, the mandatory use of a mask is defined in accordance with the regulation of the respective public or private health structure.
In any case, entry is prohibited to visitors who show symptoms of a respiratory infection.
