The border posts at Ormenio and Kipi in north-eastern Greece will close on Tuesday as a result of the continuing protests by farmers in the region of Evros.
Farmers at Ormenio will interrupt traffic 15:00 instead of 12:00, as initially announced.
Additionally, the passing of trucks will be periodically interrupted at the intersection of Kastanies. Farmers will also interrupt traffic at the Kipi border post at 13:00, in both directions.
“We are sending a message to the the government that the problems remain, that they are major and we can’t brush them under the carpet anymore,” stated the president of the Farmers Association of Alexandroupolis, Kostas Alexandris.
