Summer storms and temperature drop in the coming days

Temperatures are forecast to decrease as of Tuesday, July 23, and for a few days, before they rise again. At the same time, summer storms are underway in many parts of Greece.

According to director of National Meteorology Service EMY, Thodoris Kolydas, locally heavy rainstorms are forecast for central and eastern Macedonia and possibly Thrace.

Especially attention is to be paid in Halkidiki. Intense weather phenomena are possible mainly in North-Eastern Greece also on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

It should be warned that local summer storms in northern Greece can be sudden and very heavy with lots of lightning. Last month a 13-year-old girl was killed by a lightning while she was walking at the beach in Halkidiki.
