PS in other health news, the Health Ministry increased the prices for some 800 medications in August claiming that “cheap prices force the pharma industry to export their drugs and so they will ‘disappear’ in the country.”
The price increases 1% το 400% affect also the self-participation even of chronic ill patients.
It should be recalled that the health ministry has also cut the frequency of laboratory tests and screenings since January 1, with the effect that patients have to pay them privately from their own pockets.
The neo-liberal government mostly limits the upgrade of the Health sector in inaugurating … freshly painted walls and corridors.
With no money to spend for personnel hiring, there is no any upgrade of any kind. Just an ongoing deterioration.
