Automatic issuance of Tax number (AFM) to minors: The procedure and the necessary conditions
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) extends the automatic granting of AFM to children up to 12 years of age. The rendering of AFM started on November 11 and is expected to be completed gradually by the end of the month.
A necessary condition for the performance is the declaration of the children in the Income Tax Returns of the tax year 2023 and the digital verification of the data.
Parents of minors, who receive an AFM are informed by a relevant message via e-mail and through the “My Messages” box in the myAADE digital portal, under the path Register & Contact > My Messages, or via myAADEapp > My Messages .
It should be noted that the granting of an AFM number by the AADE to minor children does not create an obligation to obtain a key or to submit declarations.
The automatic issuance of AFM to minors up to 12 years of age complements last year’s action of automatic issuance of AFMs to minors over 12 years of age, which facilitated more than 299,000 families, significantly reducing administrative costs.
The process of automatically issuing AFM to minors up to 12 years of age is estimated to serve even more families covering 700,000 minors, including those minors over 12 who have not yet received an AFM.
Citizens can be further informed, through the relevant Frequently Asked Questions – Answers Manual, which is posted on the AADE website, under the route, Service – Information > Frequently asked questions – answers > Automatic issuance of AFM to minor children, as well as through the Center Taxpayer Service (TAS) of AADE on the phone +30 213 162 1000, on working days and hours 7:30 – 17:00.
PS I do hope children will not get an AFM so that they can declare and have taxed their revenues from Christmas and New Year’s Carols.
government creeps keep your hands off our children!
The State wants to tax these kids’ pocket money and what they get from their grandparents.
