Greece rejects Netanyahu ICC arrest warrant, welcomes ceasefire agreement

Greece has welcomes the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon and with quite a delayed reaction it said it rejects arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal court (ICC) for PM Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

“These decisions do not help. We cannot equate a state that suffered a terrorist attack, in this case by Hamas, with nations that initiated attacks, such as Russia in Ukraine,” government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis told journalists on Tuesday.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry in Athens posted on social media that it welcomes the ceasefire agreement.

  1. This is shameful. In this case the ICC has no longer any meaningful function. In what kind of world do war criminals rule over so called democratic countries. Yes, they had the right to defend themselves but not to kill babies and starve people to death. Shame on you Mitsotakis!

  2. So Greece supports genocide, except when it is done against Greeks. Typical hypocrisy and double standards, cozying up to the USA and Israel and ignoring basic standards of human decency. Just disgusting, really.

  3. Great news! Thank you Greece! To all hamas lovers – you will only understand when they come to your house, kill your wife and children, but it will be too late. Read the definition of genocide, you imbeciles. Israel has been sending tons of food to Gaza and hamas was killing its own people for trying to get it. Oh those leftists!

    • You mean Israel was sending food because the US threatened to terminate shipments of JDAMs used to kill 70% women and children in the indiscriminate carpet bombing of Gaza. Efraim, don’t fret that this food could possibly feed any Palestinians though; because the Israelis figured out immediately that they could just organize looters to steal most of it back immediately after it passed the crossings.

  4. I think people are being unkind to Netanyahu. He is only following Jewish tradition. Around 3,500 years ago when Joshua led the 12 tribes of Israel across the Jordan and into the land of Canaan they immediately set about destroying every building in every city and killing every man woman and child so that they could have the land for themselves. It is all carefully documented in in the Book of Joshua, which is in both the Old Testament of the Christian Bible and the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh.

PS I am not a Hamas lover nor am I anti-semitic. I think Hamas and Netenyahu and his cohort are the epitome of evil. I believe most Jews are good people as are most Palestinians. Unfortuately there are cohorts within both populations who want the area “from the river to the sea” cleansed completely of the other population.

    • I agree completely that Knitting Yahoo has chosen to follow the most brutal and uncivilised Jewish traditions that civilised Jews do not support. The question is why, since this will not bring him electoral support. The simple answer is that the man is corrupt beyond belief, has been under criminal investigation for many years, and the only thing that keeps him out of prison is political power. His political position relies absolutely on Israel being in a state of war, not to say chaos and potentially civil war. Evil has no limits, and most certainly has no patriotism.

A more difficult question to answer is why the morons in the Greek government support criminality and evil.

  5. Shame on Mitsotakis and Greece. Netanyahu and Gallant are the people who invoked Amalek on ordinary Palestinians. The theft of Palestinian lands and the oppression of Palestinians shall not endure. Meanwhile consider that Greece is under a personal boycott.
