Three people who suffered burns in the tragic incident at dawn at a night club/disco in the city of Kocani in North Macedonia are being transferred to Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki. ,
The transfer operation is currently underway and is held by ambulances of North Macedonia after cooperation with the Greek Foreign Ministry. the injured are expected to reach the hospital, which is on general duty, after 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Earlier, a request was submitted by North Macedonia to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the transfer to Greece of people injured in the deadly fire at a nightclub in the city of Kocani, according to diplomatic sources.
At least 59 mostly young people lost their lives and another 155 were injured when the fire broke out inside the disco most probably by fireworks. The disco was full due to a Live concert by a group.
Videos shot at the time of the incident showed that it was the roof that first caught fire that spread very quickly. People in panic rushed to get out and many were reportedly stampeded, others were burned or asphyxiated.
The youngest victim was 14 years old.

Initial reports spoke of 50 dead, the number rose to 59 later.

Inside the club were some 1,500 people.

Another Balkan tragedy. The place ran with an illegal and forged license obtained with bribes and authorities probably looked the other way. The current government tries to spin it as something that happened during the previous government but where were they?
There must be many places like this all over the Balkans that are an absolute danger to people visiting these places. Corruption in the Balkans is endemic and has be be rooted out.
