Preliminary forensic findings: Signs of abuse before death

In a latest development early on Sunday in the evening media report that initial evidence indicates the child had been at sea for at least 24  hours before she was found.

Preliminary forensic examination has shown that the body had bruises and injuries on the forehead, nose, lips, hands and knees as well as a blow to the shoulder. it has not being revealed how and when these injuries were suffered.

The findings do not point to a collision with a boat, as initially suspected, but more to abuse, daily ethnos.gr reported.

The image of the body, according to estimates, refers to a child almost emaciated, which strengthens the possibility that the child suffered also before ending up dead at sea.

An autopsy expected to shed light on the mystery and the causes that led to the little girl’s death is scheduled to take place next Tuesday.

The above evidence leaves open all possibilities for the development of the case, without, however, the involvement of the Homicide Department in the case, which is being handled exclusively by the Coast Guard, so far.

Alpha TV reported that according to first examination “sand was found  inside the girl’s swimming suit meaning that the girl was at a beach [or at very shallow waters] before falling into the sea, implying that the scenario the girl may have fallen from a boat is excluded,” the new presenter said.

Other scenarios circulating in the media allege the girl belonged to a Greek or foreign family that was either at one of the beaches of the Athens Riviera or on one of the islands.

So far the Coast Guard that knows very well how the currents topography of the area are has not published any information in this regard.

Authorities keep searching for the child’s parents.

In the most latest development on Sunday evening, the Homicide Department of the Greek Police is now reportedly investigating the case. Authorities are examining the possibility of criminal activity, following the findings of the forensic examination.
