A taxi driver was arrested at Athens International Airport after he allegedly overcharged a female passenger.
Police said the driver demanded 110 euros for a trip from the airport to the port of Piraeus, more than double the legal fare.
Authorities are pursuing charges against him for collecting an excessive fare, in violation of regulations.
The 54-year-old man was taken into custody by Piraeus traffic police and referred to a prosecutor.

they should try looking at kerkyra taxi driver fares
It is about time they started to crack down on these lowlife taxi drivers. My husband, who was not used to Euros was robbed by one of the Pireas taxi drivers when he claimed my husband had given him a €10 but my husband had given him a €50 note. We were also tricked into going with this driver because we were lost and he went all around the harbour and after he had dropped us off and robbed my husband, we walked further on to find out we were only 500m from where we started and the driver was with a group of other drivers laughing at us. I will never use another yellow taxi in Athens because of this.
once a taxi driver tried this from the Airport. Idiot! I had come from a non-euro country and I had only one 50-banknote. this Piraeus drivers are a mafia, trust me.
My partner (Greek) and I learned years ago to never ever take a cab on the street or airport line. We will only use Uber or Free Now. In the past they tried to cheat us a million ways. Shameful.
