A two-seater training aircraft of the Greek Air Force crashed in Tatoi, northern Athens, on Wednesday morning, authorities said. The two pilots – trainer and trainee – have been injured.
According to initial information, the P2002-JF aircraft failed to gain height during the take off, a piece of the wing became detached, causing it to veer off the runway on the Dekelia Air Base.

The two pilots, both members of the Air Force, were transported to the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital.

They were reportedly conscious and are undergoing medical examinations. However, still two hours after the crash, there is no official information about their health condition.
The cause of the crash are under investigation.
