Two waves of bad weather will hit Greece with rains, storms, gale-force winds

Two consecutive waves of bad weather are forecast for Greece with rainfalls and storms even in Athens. Temperature is expected to remain at the same levels while on Friday, October 17, gale-force winds are expected in the Ionian Sea.

According to meteorologist and former director of the National Meteorological Service (EMY) Thodoris Kolidas, the first wave of bad weather is expected from Thursday to Friday, October 16-17, with storms to hit the West, the Center and the North of the country.

However, not all areas will be affected.

The weather will improve on Saturday while from Sunday to Monday, October 19-20, rainfalls are forecast again and will hit even Greek capital Athens.

Temperature is expected to remain at the same levels, while on Friday we expect gusty winds in the Ionian Sea.

Kolydas’ forecast on social media & areas affected:

“In the coming days we expect two main disturbances to affect us. The first, Thursday to Friday with rains and storms in the west, central and northern areas (but not in all areas) and the other disturbance Sunday to Monday, which will also bring some good rains to Athens.

Temperatures do not change significantly and are maintained at levels slightly below normal, while winds will be stronger on Friday in the Ionian Sea.”
