The first eight “smart” traffic cameras operating on Artificial Intelligence (AI) system set up on a pilot basis in Attica have already recorded impressive results in their first week: 2,500 violations of the Traffic Code.
From Tuesday until Friday, December 16-19, the camera installed on Syggrou Avenue in Athens had recorded more than 1,000 violations involving mobile phones and seat-belt use, as well as 800 speed limit violations in areas where the maximum speed limit is 90 km/hour.

Two days ago, an AI camera captured a motorcycle driver speeding Syggrou avenue with 161 km/h, when the maximum speed limit is 90 km/h.
Other serious traffic violations include 480 instances of running through red lights on Messogion Avenue-Chalandriou and 285 on Vouliagmenis Avenue.
Τhe smart AI cameras have been installed in the municipalities of Athens and Agia Paraskevi as well as in Kallithea and Rafina.
