Strong southerly – southwesterly winds, with an intensity of 5 to 6 Beaufort and locally up to 8 B in the open seas and the Aegean Sea have disrupt sea traffic on Saturday, January 3, with many ferries and ships docked in several ports especially in the islands.
According to the Greek Coast Guard, hydrofoil routes to the islands of the Saronic Gulf do not operate, while conventional ships operate their routes at the discretion of the captains and depending on the weather conditions.
From the port of Piraeus, routes to the Cyclades islands are not operated, while from the port of Rafina, routes to Andros, Tinos and Mykonos have been suspended, with ships operating only as far as Marmari.
At the same time, the Prinos – Kavala ferry line remains closed due to the adverse weather conditions.
Passengers who are planning to travel by sea should contact local port authorities and tourism agencies, in order to be informed of any changes or modifications to itineraries.
