UPD: AEGEAN airlines cancels flights to/from several Middle East countries until March 4

AEGEAN  Airlines announced on Saturday, February 28, 2026 that it cancels flights to and from Israel, Iraq, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates until March 3, 2026.

On Sunday, March 1, the Aegean extended the cancelled flights until March 4, 2026.

In a statement, the AEGEAN said it informs all passengers, that due to recent developments in the Middle East, is cancelling flights to and from the airports of Tel Aviv, Erbil, Baghdad, Beirut, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Affected passengers will receive a notification from AEGEAN or the respective travel agencies through which their tickets were issued, informing them of the available options, including a full refund or a credit voucher for future use, as well as the flexibility to change their travel date at no additional cost.

Furthermore, AEGEAN in order to facilitate passengers who hold tickets to and from Tel Aviv, Erbil, Baghdad, Beirut, Dubai and Abu Dhabi for flights up to March 10, 2026 and wish to modify their trips is offering the possibility to a) either change their tickets free of charge for travel or flights to be operated until March 31st, 2026 or b) cancel their booking and be eligible for a credit voucher for future use.

  1. People should plan their flights according to one criterion: when will Trump be impeached/imprisoned or struck down by lightning? Until you have a definitite date for that, best not to travel abroad and definitely not to the USA or Israel. The Middle East, of course, has always been a powder keg: it merely needs one or two politicians with a screw loose to set it off. Currently, we have at least two such lunatics in the West.
