The Attica Taxi Drivers’ Union (SATA) on Monday announced a series of rolling 24-hour strikes, starting on Tuesday, March 17, and lasting until Friday, March 20, 2026.
In an announcement posted on SATA website, the union said the strikes start at 06:00 on Tuesday and will last for as long as the debate on the new Transport ministry bill in the parliamentary committee will last.
Taxi drivers expressed their disagreement with the provisions of a bill to be introduced for discussion in the competent parliamentary committee that concerns the electric propulsion of commercial vehicles, special permits and issues related to the criminal record of professional taxi drivers.
At the same time, also on Monday, the Panhellenic Federation of Taxi Drivers (POIATA) announced a strike with indefinite end throughout Greece, starting tomorrow Tuesday, March 17.
The strike will begin with a 24-hour work stoppage on Tuesday, the day the bill is introduced in the parliamentary committee, and will continue with repeated 24-hour strikes until the bill is passed.
