Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has proposed the extension of the term in office of the governor of the Bank of Greece (BoG) Yannis Stournaras.
According to an announcement, taking into account the independence and the Statute of the Bank of Greece, the government proposes the renewal of the term of office of the current governor, Yannis Stournaras.
Mitsotakis and Stournaras met on Wednesday morning and the governor accepted the proposal.
Stournaras has been serving at this post since 2014 and his term has already been extended twice.
