Greece: “Civil Mobilization” Against Truck Drivers Strike

Greek government ordered a civil mobilization in order to force striking drivers back to work and stop the truck and fuel tanks drivers’ strike. According to the state order trucks and lorries will ‘belong’ to the state and the drivers will get ‘state’ orders to drive the vehicles.
The order will come into effect July 29, at 6 o’clock in the morning.
Drivers will be obliged to drive their trucks to where the state appoints. In case of disobedience drivers might lose their license, have their trucks confiscated and get a prison punishment.
In Prime Time News chairmen from Drivers associations do not seem keen to comply with the state order. Giwrgos Tsamos, Chairman of Fuel Tankers Association has called via MEGA Channel TV the drivers , who get the state order to contact the Association before proceed.
