I have this country-side fantasy…

As I have been gardening in my balcony with all kinds of herbs, tomatoes, paprika, aubergines and zucchinis and flowers, some kind of old ancestor farmer DNA, a dig and grow alarm clock started ringing again.
A fantasy coming on and off since a couple of years – maybe a decade: To live in the country side, walking distance to the sea, in a cottage, with a herb and vegetable garden, with wild growing flowers… some lemon, orange, apricot, peaches and almond trees, my two cats, one or two dogs, some chicken for fresh eggs, one goat for home made cheese, a donkey and some goose, a stone oven in the yard, a quick internet connection and a satellite antenna. Some people in the area to share some common interests…
Living in Athens amid the economic crisis, I have been wondering whether things could be a bit different in the country side…
However the big question would be,,, which region of Greece to choose to start a new life – in case my vision can turn into reality.

Pelion, where I live for around half the year in an old converted olive press a few minutes walk from the sea, with a big garden, fruit trees, a visiting cat, broadband, but no chickens or goats. However I am at the moment in Manchester listening to the rain lash against the roof, marking exam papers. Why?
sound idyllic. Why you listening to the rain? to make a living probably
CRETE of course!
