A young protester has been transferred to a hospital with serious head injuries, Greek news portals report. The 30-year old student was participating at Wednesday’s protest rally organized by the public and private sector labor unions. The student has been undergoing surgical operation and is in critical conditions.
Erlier today, protesters and riot police delivered clashes during a mass protest rally against the austerity measures imposed by Greece’s lenders.
Police fired teargas with the effect that more than 8 people suffered respiratory problems.
The reasons for the clash have not been known.
