2,5MM Greek Taxpayers to Pay €1,8Bn ASAP!
Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Economy
Two and a half million Greek taxpayers are invited to contribute to state revenues with 1,8 billion euro as soon as possible, that is by the end of September! The Tax Bills sent by the Tax Offices include special solidarity contribution, trade levy, and special levy for cars over 1,950 cc, swimming pools and boats. The extra levies will be sent also to unemployed or self-employed who have closed down their business. These will have to go to the tax office and declare their new zero-income status.
This is only the first part of the Finance Ministry target to fill up revenue holes with extra levy. 2,5 million more taxpayers will be invited to pay their tribute in the next months.
The contribution are % calculated according to yearly income as declared for 2010.
If you are a self-employed with 20,000 euro yearly income, you will pay €200 special levy and €300 trade levy. In times when consumers refrain from spending, you certainly know how hard it is to get 500 euro! And how much it hurts to spend it for bailout interest rates…
And this … exceptional Levy -that will be permanent until 2015 - will have to be paid every year…

I will keep everyone informed as soon as we get our ‘loveletter’ from Venizelos. Might be time for a long, long (maybe even permanent) vacation though…
I even consider of taking a permanent vacation from this country lol With satellite tv & internet you can do everything from everywhere
