UPDATE: Two seamen unions decided on Wednesday afternoon to launch a 24-hour strike on 1. May 2012 and therefore no ship or ferry will leave the Piraeus port from Monday midnight until Tuesday midnight.
The rest of Greek seamen unions will launch a work stoppage from 8:00 am to 12 noon on May 1st 2012. Sea transport is expected to have delays and maybe crowded ferries. “May 1st” is a traditional holiday in Greece, which in fact is a “strike day and not a holiday” as the old Communists used to say…
