A powerful earthquake occurred on Tuesday at 4:16 pm with the epicentre located in the sea, 44 km south-east off the island of Limnos in the Aegean Sea. Seismologic institutes gave the magnitude as 5.8 on the Richter scale. The earthquake occurred in a depth of 11 km.
The tremor was felt in 246-km away Athens, it shook the whole of Northern Greece. It was also felt on the coast of Turkey but also in Bulgaria, according to Greek media report.
No damages have been reported so far.
