Police arrests businessman owing the state 54 million euro

Greek police arrested a 70-year-old man for owing the state whole 53,392,394.73 euro. The man was had a business dealing with items for photography and was arrested in Voula suburb of southern Athens on Tuesday. According to police news bulletin, also seven other people were arrested in several suburbs of Athens for debts to the state.

Among them a 30-year-old man with debts totalling 2.9 million euro.

So my questions are: how can debts accumulate to 54 million euro? how can a 30-year-old manage to have of almost 3 million in a rather short business life?

      • Oeps. Sorry! Didn’t think about that. Just too surprised about the crazy amount and then that name did pop up. Just tell me, do you know if I am right? Because often the names of arrested are often just floating around freely in the blog-o-sphere in Greece. 🙂
