The vast majority of Greeks want that the country’s political parties join forces for a common national policy on the debt relief. At the same time, while the majority of Greeks evaluates as positive the visit of US President Barack Obama in Athens last week, they are divided when it comes to whether the visit of US President helped Greece request for debt relief.
In a public opinion poll conducted by ALCO for daily Efimerida Ton Syntakton:
83% of respondents said they want a common national policy on debt relief.
86% said that there must be a debt relief.
6% think that the debt is sustainable.
53% have a positive opinion about US president Barack Obama, 12% have a negative opinion.
43% think Obama’s visit didn’t help Greece on the issue of Debt relief.
40% think Obama did help.
90% agree with Obama’s “austerity does not bring prosperity”
52% think that Obama’s approach help Greece in the Refugee Crisis and the Cyprus issue.
The poll was conducted between 18-20 November 2016. Sample 1,000 people over 18, across Greece.
