In a fanciful way with very clear hint to the country’s lenders in general and to a specific Eurozone Finance Minister in particular, Greece’s Finance Ministry sent its Christmas Wishes citing the story of most famous cold-hearted miser, Ebenezer Scrooge.

Perhaps all Christmas stories have a terrifying Ebenezer, who closed as an “oyster, welcomes the Christmas spirits in his desolate loneliness.
Perhaps our Christmas story is no exception. However, friends and co-workers, dearest and beloved ones, our wishes are beyond the Ebenezers of this world. Our wishes don’t give up, as we don’t give up.

In Charles Dickens classic novella A Christmas Carol (1843), Ebenezer Scrooge, the penny-pinching, bitter old man, changed his attitude towards life and Christmas traditions after he was visited by the ghosts of the Past, the Present and the Yet-To-come on Christmas Eve.
PS I suppose, the Greek Finance Ministry sent also a translated copy to Berlin. The famous Scrooge of modern eurozone times might be visited by the ghosts of past, present and yet-to-come Greek pensioners tonight.
Even Dickens didn’t extend the bitterness and meanness of old Scrooge to include being confined to a miserable wheelchair. Schaeuble is the epitome of everything that is wrong with book-keepers and accountants — cold and calculating, without a vision of humanity, heartless, introverted to the point of being deranged,and with a cynical and bitter outlook on life. In the case of someone running a business, this is bad: for someone running a country, terrible; and for someone running the eurozone an absolute catastrophe. The fault lies with the idiots around him, for failing to see their own stupidity in not preventing this catastrophe.
No nasty comment would be nasty enough..so we have decided to look at the happy side of

could bring a “Trump card” for the EU with the departure of Mrs. Merkel and her consorts..

If Wolfie were to die tomorrow morning, what makes anybody think anything would change? OK he is revolting, but there is an entire system which designs and enforces his policies for Greece and Europe. This system has long concluded that Greece should be destroyed and looted by all means, bribery and corruption included. Once this is done, others (Italy, Portugal, …) will follow.
Short of large scale uprising, nothing (new persons, elections etc.) can change this course.
