ATMs in Greece are to be radically modernized and offer a series of transactions possibilities that are currently being offered only at the bank counter. The country’s banks plan to replace the ATMs inside and outside the bank branches with a new generation of automated teller machines offering multiple transactions in real-time and thus 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Customers will be able to:
– deposit money into their accounts
– transfer money to a third party with account in the same bank
– pay a number of bills, including debts to the tax office
In order to support deposits via the ATM, the machine should be positioned outside a bank unit.
So far, Greek banks offering ATMs services with more than just money withdrawal are:
National Bank: About 80% of ATMs enable online deposits.
Alpha Bank: ATMs mostly in stores of the former Commercial Bank enable automatic deposits.
Eurobank: By the end of 2017 all ATMs of the bank would have been replaced with new ones. A few dozens throughout Greece allow online deposits.
Piraeus Bank: Selected ATMs allow online cash deposit without being packed in an envelope, the amount is being automatically credited to connected account. (via moneyonline.gr)
PS Real modernization would be the ATM spits out money also in cases the customer’s account is €Zero or even better: the customer has no bank account at all, no credit or debit card 🙂
And for every withdrawal, deposit, pay, transactions aso they will charge only 50 cents.
