Omnibus bill amendments to attract foreign investment, facilitate business activities

Five amendments in the omnibus bill tabled at the Greek parliament reportedly aim to attract foreign investment, stimulate development  and make it easier to launch business ventures.

According to gtp.gr, in efforts to attract investment and facilitate the launch of business projects in Greece, the economy ministry has made five revisions to the omnibus bill.

Specifically, the bill foresees incentives for foreign enterprise to set up ventures in business parks; the upgrade of the Industrial Property Organization (OBI) framework which protects inventions and industrial designs; the introduction of new building criteria for bakeries; the simplification of the framework covering quarrying activities and a series of regulations aimed at speeding up the implementation of public works.

A ministry priority is the creation of business parks and industrial areas which will house industry and trade activities.

The goal is to increase productivity and improve competitiveness of the Greek economy. full article gtp.gr

PS new building criteria for bakeries? I see myself driving 50km to the next industrial park to get my daily loaf of bread.

  1. “the simplification of the framework covering quarrying activities”. We can’t generate cash fast enough so they want it to be easier for foreign powers to plunder Greece’s mineral wealth. They have already seen to it that workers can be offered a pittance for their labour and are currently pushing through a bill to strip workers of the right to protest. I weep for Greece.
