Workers at the Greek Ministry of Culture, including guards at archaeological sites and museums will launch a 24-hour strike on March 2nd 2018 in Attica and on Crete, demanding solution to “chronic problems”of their sectors.
According to a report of athensnewsagency, the Culture Ministry staff is protesting the layoff of 20 employees in both areas, and the issue of contracts for additional staff for museums and archaeological sites.
The guards, who are participating with their own union (PEYFA), said they are striking for staff layoff issues, and financial issues related to TAPA, the Archaeological Revenues and Expropriation that handles revenues from museums, archaeological sites, and reproduction rights, among other issues, the ana said.
