US ambassador to Athens, Geoffrey Pyatt expressed concern about the two Greek soldiers remanded in Turkey. Speaking to Kathimerini reporters at the Economic Forum in Delphi, late Friday, Pyatt said the US is closely monitoring the case and that he has talked with the US Assistant Secretary of State about it.

Asked if he is worried about an “accident” between Greece and Turkey, Pyatt replied he was worried about an incident of “unintentional” conflict.
