An explosive device was difused by police at an Athens tax office after a warning phone call.. The explosives were hidden in a metal box in a plastic bag and left in a trash toilet boxat the basement of a tax office in Neos Kosmos suburb of Athens on Wednesday. An unidentified person called a newspaper at 2 pm and warned of the bomb, claiming it would explode in 25 min. Police rushed  to the spot, the building was evacuated and a controlled explosion was initiated.

Greek media reported that the explosives were wighting two kg.

No organization has claimed responsibility so far.

Although initially it was thought the morning warning call  might have been a farce, the incident at the tax office may lead to clues of a possible strategy of local urban guerrilla groups to create an atmosphere of uncertainty.
