A ‘hot’ and ‘fruity’ welcome was organized by citizens on the island of Mytilene for new Development, Competitiveness & Maritime Deputy Minister Adonis Georgiadis from far-right LAOS. Local police had to protect him twice and guarantee a safe passage. The first incident occurred outside the General Secretariat of island Policies where a group of protesters threw eggs and orangesand chanted slogans “The Junta didn’t concluded in 1973”. According to local media the protesters tried to storm the building and Georgiadis left under a bombardment of local products.
The second incident occurred when protesters heard Goergiadis was visiting local television “Archipelagos” to give an interview. Again the protesters gathered outside the building and forced police to unfold a new ‘escpae’ plan for the new Minister.
