Full Moon and Total Eclipse: How Do They Affect Our Lives?

A wonderful ‘blood-red’ full moon will rise after the sunset on December 10th, 2011. Bright and mysterious and a kind of scary. The full moon on Dec 10/11thfalls victim of a total lunar eclipse. As the moon will rise in Europe it will be covered partially with the shadow of the earth, therefore its reddish colour.  As the eclipse will proceed the moon will slowly disappear from our eyes until its fully covered by the shadow of the earth. Then slowly again the moon will start unfold its brightness in the night sky.

Depending on which part of the earth you are, there chance to see the total eclipse is 100 pro in the southern hemisphere and Central South Europe and Africa and the East coast of America. The total eclipse will last 51 minutes. In Greece, the eclipse will start with moon rise at 5 pm and the phenomenon will continue until 7.30 pm.

The eclipse’s total phase lasts for 51 minutes. It starts at at 11:33:36 Universal Time (UT), with totality starting at 14:06:16 UT. The point of the greatest eclipse occurs at 14:31:49 UT. The umbral eclipse magnitude will reach 1.11 at this point. Totality ends at 14:57:24 UT, and the entire eclipse finally ends at 17:29:57 UT. (see below for time-zone link)

Astrology

Traditionally astrologists interpret the total lunar eclipse as a bad omen.  The moon affects the internal and private sphere , emotions and personality, the private and nurturing side. Therefore it has a greater impact of women and family.

Dec 10th total lunar eclipse occurs in two mutable signs: Gemini and Sagittarius. So change is high on the agenda, especially for these signs directly involved as well as for Virgo and Pisces, mutable signs as well. All other signs will be affected too with less impact though.

We can trigger changes instinctively, following our ‘inner voice’. We can throw over board old perceptions and clear  paths for new targets.  That is not negative, as we can use this opportunity to get rid of things that have bugged us for a long time and grow towards a positive development for us. “Reorientation” is the key word, living the past behind us and put the rails for several years to come.

However as communication planet Mercury is retrograde the way we clear things can be full of turbulence. We might be at risk that our initiatives come into surface in an irrational form full of aggression, lose of control and lots of misunderstandings. Astrologists speak of “a wild roller coaster side”, “revved chaos” and “confusion”.

So better think twice and contemplate for a while before you open your mouth. A wise advise would be that you avoid people and situations that challenge your nervous system. You don’t seriously want to breakdown with family members, friends, colleagues or neighbors just because a silly lunar eclipse sensitizes a superstitious string of your soul, do you?

You better enjoy the amazing full Moon without the negative effects of the Total Lunar Eclipse!

  1. Went up in the mountains. Saw the moon rise over the opposite mountains at 17.25. Nice, but not too spectacular. The last light of the sun behind me was more spectacular. Because the eclipse was 3/4 and although the full moon was big, not as big as she can be. And a bit cold. 😛
Bad things happened indeed today. When I wanted to get bread this morning two of the three bakeries in my village were closed. And one looked very, very closed. And of course, that one’s the one with the old wood oven. Let’s hope someone died… ehhh… that came out wrong, but you know what I mean? 😳

      • Good. Oh and I remember some of your closed shop experiences from not to long ago. There will not be a lot left after the holidays, will there? 😥
At least I have the pictures. (Send you two of the moon eclips just now. 😉 )
