Greek Easter 2012: Molotov Bombs Instead of Fireworks (video)

It’s Saturday midnight. Clerics and believers have gathered to celebrate Jesus Resurrection. In a small church at Neos Kosmos suburb of Athens. Believers are holding candles, some youth are ready to fire the fireworks. The moment priest and believers start to chant “Christ is Risen” a group of people apparently a kind of …alternative concept of how to celebrate the biggest feast of Greek Orthodoxy.

Instead of fireworks, they start throwing molotov cocktail bombs!

It has not been revealed whether the firebombs were aiming to protest “Jesus Resurrection”.  For sure, believers were scared to see this “original” (?) way to celebrate this year’s Greek Easter amid economic crisis, austerity and recession….
