You should not be surprised if you see no single yellow cab on the streets of Athens and broader Attica area today. Taxi owners and drivers surprisingly launched a work stoppage from 3 pm until 10 pm in order to join their unions general convention.
The Union of Attica Motorists SATA said in a statement that the sector has still many unsolved problems.

With all the times I’ve been rudely treated by taxi drivers, this is one part of the austerity I’m silently smiling about. Now, as with Soddom and Gommorroh, God did say he’d save them if one decent one could be found, so I do know one decent taxi driver.
