Head of Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem is due to Athens on upcoming Friday, May 31st, just days before the representatives of Greece’s lenders -the Troika – will come for the regular fiscal inspection. Dijsselbloem will meet with prime minister Antonis Samaras and finance minister Yiannis Stournaras. A press conference will follow.
It is the first time Jeroen Dijsselbloem will visit Greece.
Also former Eurogroup head, Jean-Claude Juncker will visit Athens in June following an invitation by the Greek prime minister. Luxembourg’s PM will be in Athens June 10th and 11th on a working visit.
PS there are no reports about any protests scheduled during Dijsselbloem’s visit. Why should Greeks protest. They’re looking forwards, to economic recovery and thousands of jobs. In 2014/2015… or something like that. Certainly in this century.
