It is the first time that the leader of a political party makes such a denouncement. Vassilis Leventis, the founder and chairman of Union of Centrists, claimed that a pollster asked from him €10,000 in order to show better rates for the party in the next public opinion poll.
Speaking to ANT1 “Good morning, Greece” magazine, Leventis said that while he was at the International Fair of Thessaloniki, “an employee of a well-known polling company asked 10,000 euros in order to show that the Centrists’ Union had 7% to 8%.” The in the next poll conducted by the company.” (sources: here , here)
The party gained the support of 3.43% of voters in September 2015 elections and entered the Parliament for the first time with 9 MPs.
Recent polls show that the party might no reach the 3% threshold required to enter the Greek Parliament in the next elections.
PS I have no idea, why Leventis did not denounce this sinister offer to police and to the association of polling companies.
