A car fell off the bridge on the rail tracks of urban train ISAP at the KAT station in Northern Athens early Friday morning. At the time of the accident a train was about to pass through.
The 60-year-old woman managed to get out of the car before the coming train crashed into the vehicle. However, the train driver had no time to stop the train and dragged it for a couple of meters.
The car driver was slightly injured in the legs and taken to hospital.
Her son told reporters that another car had blocked his mother’s vehicle while on the bridge, she turned right … and fell of the bridge.
The bridge over the rail track is narrow and drivers have to be very careful while driving at low speed.
Train traffic on the Kifissia track was suspended until the car was removed.
The damage on the car was caused by the passing train, media report.
