Turkey has accused Greece of “protecting and encouraging coup plotters” and of “partnership in this crime.” The baseless claims and unfounded allegation in the usual deliriant Turkish tune, come by Minister for European affairs Omer Celik, after the country’s top court, the Greek Council of State, ruled on Thursday in favor of the release of one out of eight Turkish soldiers who fled to the country and sought political asylum.
Turkish minister for European Affairs Omer Celikwent a step further, – in fact ten Tweets further – and accused Greece of encouraging coup being a collaborator to the failed coup of July 2016.
We see that Greece, an EU member, is openly protecting members of FETÖ who took part in the attempted coup in Turkey. Even releasing them means that Greece is encouraging coup plotters.

Coup attempt is the most vile, most despicable crime against humanity. Protecting these terrorists is partnering in this crime. Even more, encouraging coup plotters by releasing them means that the state in question has become one rewarding the coup plotters.

It is a breaking point in history that Greece, with whom we share the same table at international fora to protect democratic values, has become a state which protects enemies of democracy.

While we are pursuing a serious fight against terrorists with our Operation Olive Branch, Greece’s intention is obvious as it is making provocations in the Mediterranean and Aegean in which its Minister of Defense is also involved. We see their intentions very clearly.

Greek Justice Minister, who has started competing with the Defense Minister, announced a couple of days ago that the coup plotters would be released. This is even a more serious provocation than what the Minister of Defense has been doing.

With this choice Greece has shown that it did not take a respectable way, did not care about law and also it prefers another position rather than good neighbourly relations.

Celik wrote among others – and frankly, I’m a bit in a hurry and in an unbearable boredom of keep clicking the copy-paste button just to transport here the Tweets of a minister of a country that disrespects any “universal law” [Celik quote] with regards to illegal occupation of the North of Cyprus, to the permanent aggression in the Aegean including the baseless claim that islets and islands are “under Turkish sovereignty” and the dozens of human rights violations, incl keeping the two Greek soldiers without charges for 50 days, just to mention a few.
One has just to take a look at the European Commission report 2017 published a couple of days ago, and the resolution of the European Parliament on Thursday.
