The Fire Service of Corinth launched a big rescue operation on Monday, to bring a French tourist to safety. The woman had fallen down the slope of the Canal of Corinth. Ιt was a tree that saved her life.
She had managed to hold on a tree until the rescuers pulled her up to safe ground.
The woman spoke broken English, the fire fighters spoke no French, nobody understood how the accident happened.
She said that she was two meters above the water and KTG understood that the ground was slippery.
The 60-year-old woman, who said her name was Blondine, was offered water and said she was fine.
The Fire Service called an ambulance and had her transferred to a hospital in Corinth for precautionary reasons.
