Tourists were evacuated in time and the worst was avoided when the bus they were on burst into flames.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning on the national road between Selinari and Neapoli in the Prefecture of Lasithi on the island of Crete.
According to local media, the fire started in the engine of the tourist bus and spread rapidly.
The evacuation was quick and nobody was reportedly harmed.
Three fire tracks with ten firefighters rushed to the point and extinguished the fire.
However, the blaze caused serious damage to the bus.
According to state broadcaster ERT TV, the bus was transferring tourists from Italy.
