Gale-force winds have ferries to remain docked at the ports of Piraeus, Refina and Lavrios for a second consecutive day. Winds are blowing in the Greek seas with intensity of up to 8 Beuafort and locally up to 9.
Ferries scheduled to sail to the island of Crete late on Thursday had to cancel their schedules.
Sea traffic for the islands in the Saronic Gulf has resumed.
Passengers planning to travel by the sea are advised to contact local port authorities and travel agents.
UPDATE 13:00 Sailing ban has been lifted for ferries from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. The ban remains valid for ferries from the port of Lavrio.
Bad weather problems with strong winds and snowfalls are still persisting in Central and South Greece.
Police closed the Penteli-Nea Makri closed and the northern part of Penteli Avenue in Attica on Friday morning due to snowfalls. Lorries with a weights above 3.5 t are not allowed, while the rest of vehicles should move only on snow tires.

Th weather is expected to show some improvement, however, a new bad weather front is forecast to set in as of Saturday.
