Attica Bank President Panagiotis Roumeliotis tendered his resignation on Wednesday afternoon, in a widely expected move, given that a board of directors meeting is scheduled for Thursday morning to accept the resignation.
Roumeliotis, who as president of the non-systemic Athens-based bank attracted his share of criticism, including by the country’s political opposition, has repeatedly clashed with the governor of the Bank of Greece, Yannis Stournaras, during his tenure, naftemporiki notes.
In fact, Roumeliotis had sent extrajudicial letters over the recent period.
