The bodies of three men were found on two beaches on the island of Rhodes over the weekend, the Greek Coast Guard said in a statement.
The first body was found Saturday afternoon on Afantou beach on the eastern side of the island. A Turkish phone card was found in a pocket of the fully dressed body.
A second body was found Sunday morning on the same beach and a little later a third corpse was discovered on nearby Faliraki beach.
All three bodies were in advanced decomposition and fully dressed. Two of them were 1,70-1,80 m tall. The bodies belonged to men aged 30-55.
The Coast Guard investigates how the three bodies ended up on the beaches. Autopsy will determine the cause of the death.
What raises questions is that there has been not known migrants boat-wreck in the area recently.
According to media speculation, the men were most likely migrants traveling by boat from the Turkish coast to Greece. [associatedpress, dimokratiki]
