Intercity express is the new high-speed train of TRAINOSE that covers the route Athens-Thessaloniki in just four hours. The intercity express starts its operation as of Monday, May 20, 2019.
The route lasting 3 hours 57 minutes will have stops in Larissa and Paleofarsalo, while the route lasting 4 hours 10 minutes will halt also in Lianokladi and Larissa.
Schedules
From Athens: The speed train 4h10min departs at 06:22 a.m.. Departures at 09:22 am, 12:22 pm, 03:22 pm and 06:22 last a little longer, 4h23min.
From Thessaloniki: speed train at 06:27 am, later departures at 09:15 am, 12:15 pm, 03:15 pm and 06:15 pm last 4h23min.
In addition there are departures from both cities short before midnight, however, the route is covered in 5h30min.
Speed train Athens Lianokladi last 1h47min and Athens-Larissa 2h48min.
Ticket prices:
Athens-Thessaloniki: €45 normal seat and €55 for premium, 1st class seat.
There is a 20% discount for return tickets.
Other services:
Among other things, Intercity Express offers power plug at each seat, supporting staff on board, WiFi currently only in 1st class, upgraded canteen services, and free newspapers to 1st class passengers for the early morning speed trains.
1st class passengers enjoy also a set of daily care products free of charge.
